About The Owner

I am the owner, Kayla McKnight. I am a fashion, apparel & textile design major here at NCCU. I am a senior from Baltimore, Maryland. I’ve had a passion for apparel and styling since a young girl. I provide multiple styling services: in person wardrobe styling, personal shopper, and digital lookbooks. I started this business because I’ve been styling my friends and family for years and decided to help others that are in need of wardrobe styling that may not have a source to go to. I feel the easy part is buying apparel but knowing how to style your items to make a complete, fabulous outfit is what is the hard part. There’s not many sources in this area that give students and locals guidance on how to style their clothing. The Fab House was honored in the Campus Echo newspaper March 25th for being an upcoming black owned business on campus.

About The Business

I started my business on September 18th last year. My company is meant to empower women and men to express themselves authentically through clothing. Many people need guidance for styling clothes that suit their aesthetic or their body shape. My job is to ensure they are stylish, confident, and fly in clothing that I chose for them. I have 3 services that I provide. In person wardrobe styling is for students at NCCU and local people that need help styling a complete outfit for an occasion(s). I style them directly from the aesthetics of clothing from their wardrobe, I try to create outfits they would not think to pair together. Next is personal shopping which is where I find a complete outfit from online shopping sites for the client to wear for their event(s) based on their comfort levels and personal budget. I will then send the outfit prices for the client to purchase their outfit. For virtual Lookbook services, I will create a decorated board of various items of clothing with particular colors and silhouettes for the client to use as a visual representation of what their style could potentially be. This is more so ideas for clients to use when they are not ready to purchase clothing just yet. All of my prices are affordable as one complete service is a minimum of $15 and if they want to book for multiple complete outfits (for wardrobe styling/personal shopping services) it would be $100.
